Our intuition is an incredible resource and gift that we all have and that has been given to us so that we can live in our highest potential. Intuition is the ability to receive information, impressions, or messages from our higher selves or other levels of consciousness. It is a tool that helps us navigate life and make decisions. It’s also a guide that can help us understand what’s happening within ourselves and in the world around us.

Intuition is different from instinct, which is a more primal form of knowing, one that comes from our animal roots. Instincts are often used in survival situations; however, intuition goes beyond survival and into realms of spiritual connection and universal wisdom. Intuition can also be called “gut feelings,” “hunch,” “sixth sense” or “inner knowing.”

Intuition is the ability to know something without any logical explanation, to just ‘know’ it. It is often described as a gut feeling or gut reaction. It can be experienced as a knowing, a sense of what will happen next, or even as a physical sensation in the body. Intuition is commonly associated with the right-brain (creative) hemisphere of the brain, but both hemispheres play an important role in intuition.

Intuition is not a substitute for logic or rational thinking; nor does it contradict logic or rational thinking. Our very best decisions are made when intuition and logic are combined. Intuition works best when we are relaxed and open to new ideas; when our minds are clear and free from distraction; when we are quiet enough inside ourselves to listen to our inner voice; and when we have faith in ourselves and trust our own wisdom.

When you are living from your intuition, you are living from your higher self. You are allowing the divine consciousness within you to guide you in every aspect of your life.

Intuition is a natural function of your mind and body. It is not something you have to learn or practice. It has been with you since birth, but most people don’t pay attention to it until they begin doing healing work or use energy work such as Reiki or Tai Chi.

Intuition works through receiving impressions, visions and feelings. These are subtle messages coming from the subconscious mind that show up as images, symbols and feelings in the body or mind. They can be very strong or very subtle depending on the situation at hand and how important it is for us to pay attention to them.

The more we use our intuition the stronger it gets because it becomes easier for us to recognize its signals when they come through to us in our everyday lives.”
